On behalf of Daughter Connection of Hampton Roads, Va, (Breast Health Awateness) we extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to our sister-friend and devoted volunteer, Joan Lumpkin Wheeler, on the passing of her only sister! Joan spoke of Dollie, as she affectionately called her, often as she expressed her love and devotion to her sister.

There are so many times in my life that I can recall precious times I spent with Grandma. Summers in Cape Cod for our family reunions were always the best memories I had with her and grandpa. Going to the lake with Janelle and I showing off our not so great handstands in the water to grandma and grandpa. We sure gave you guys some laughs those summers as we shouted "did you see that?" or "did you get that on video?" :) Or the times when we would all roast marshmellows around the campfire as grandma, grandpa, and uncle billy told us scary stories that gave us nightmares when it was time for bed. Childhood memories like these are the kind you never forget and always cherish as you become an adult. That attention and care set a strong foundation for me and allowed me to truly appreciate my family. Thank you grandma for taking me in as your own and always showing up to all the monumental moments in my life. My graduation day from HU you showed your support even though your strength wasn't its best then. It meant the world to me that my grandparents were there for me and traveled all that way. I am forever changed by the love and guidance you both have given me. I hope I make you both proud. From San Antonio with much love and prayers to all my family. Rest in peace Grandma.

God gave me the honor to be a part of your gentle soul. Your words of wisdom will for ever stay in my heart and will continue to guide me everyday of my life. Thank you for being a friend, confidant, counselor, advisor and the best Mother-In-Law one could ever ask for. I will forever miss your warm smile.

My memory of Mom helping me give birth to Alexis...holding my hand as she guided me through all the breathing rhythms that I'd forgotten...thank God she was there guiding me as my poor husband was fainting. Alexis was finally born and then she ran to take care of him ;) Alexis was born and was given her middle name, Lorraine, after her grandmother, in hopes that she will grow to be the women that her namesake was.

Love you forever

R.I.P. Mom Dolly

We are so very sorry for your loss. Mom was a beautiful person inside as well as on the outside. We remember her soft spoken voice and we have beautiful memories that we will always cherish. We need to understand that Mom is no longer suffering and has gone to a far more beautiful place. We try to undertsand life and all it's tribulations which sometimes can be very difficult, but we truly believe that my parents and brother as well as Mom are now angels, watching over us and guiding us to always make the right decisions in all we do. You're always welcome in our home.

We Love You,

Lori and Janelle Badger

Though it's been many years since I worked with Dottie at YCC at the University, I'll always remember her quiet caring ways, great smile, and most of all her love and pride in her family. Today as I mark the one year anniversary of the passing of my own mom, I extend my prayers and sincere condolences to you at this most difficult time. May Dottie rest in peace knowing that the love of her famly and friends is a true testament to the grace with which she lived her life.
Mike, it's been a long time since you and your mom shared duties in the computer room with me -- I hope you're doing well.

What I will remember is her beautiful smile and her kindness. I remember when we all were in Virginia for Lesley college graduation I had just had surgery on my foot and had a cast on walking with crutches. Mr badger Sr. Was pushing Mrs badger in a wheelchair and she wanted to give me the wheelchair, I said no no but I'll sit on your lap and she said, ok and offered me her lap. We all laughed and her I got to see that beautiful smile. Rest in peace Mrs badger you are a Angel.
